Hello all,
I am using a 12V AC wall wart to separately power some track switches. Everything appears to be in working order and there are not any temperature issues that I can find on the wart, the toggle, or the switch machine.
Has anyone ever incorporated some circuit protection for their re-purposed wall warts? If so, what type did you use? Assume you would just wire it in line?

Good question...i do the same using wallwart/capacitor circuit to fast snap my atlas switches. I have a remote 110vac at the cube and i shut it off when done switching.
Most all have their own internal thermal limiting feature.
The internal current limiting is so low in many of them that it would trigger before any circuit protection you'd add.
Thanks all... I cut the end off and soldered some 16 Gauge wire to it. My plan today is to make a BUSS and run it under the track pulling feeds where the switch machines are that need to be switched.
