Hello Postwar guys. Besides ruining the original patina, what is your thoughts on doing that. Did he devalue the piece? Can you ever get it cleaned properly? It probably hides some paint defects? Thanks, Dave
If you are talking about a disassembled postwar loco, liquid dishsoap and water works fine. Murphy's is overkill and you will probably need to rewash it with dishsoap and water after using it.
