Cleaning up a 224 I just received and getting this white film/residue on the wheels. Any recommendations on cleaning this out. It does come off with the little scrape from the tip of an exacto blade. Thanks for any help.

spray it liberally with CRC QD electronic cleaner.
found at walmart in automotive section. it will clean all residue
and dry clean within min. I use it all the time for cleaning engine parts.
You might try using heat from a blow dryer. It appears similar to the white residue from mold release, and heat will eliminate it.

I use a mini brass wire-wheel in a Dremel tool to clean off that sort of crud on old wheels. Works really well; I think it is more effective than spray cleaners. But I always use those wire wheels outside the house because they can fling tiny wires out. Wear a work apron or something to keep them out of your clothes. And eye protection of course!
