Hello everyone,

As most of you know I've been trying to find out what has happened to Nicole, It's been a long road and a few other fellow forum member's have been on this road too. I was contacted by fellow forum member Ray AKA  St. Paul, he has a friend who personally knew Nicole and wrote Ray this email.  Please understand the person writing these emails is from the NetherLands, so the wording isn't perfect, also the emails might not be in the order the way they were received. I'm not posting her friends email on this forum, for respect.  May Nicole rest in peace

we members of the OGR Forums are wondering if something has happened to our fellow forum Lady? can anyone at the receiving end of this email inform us if she is okay?

Thank You forum member StPaul

Hi there.  Well if u are  off the ogr   Forums miss cox past away early last year.  Sorry that no one informed  the ord as. I was a friend. Of hers

Hello B Macdonald and Thank You for the Reply. I am replying again to verify we are in fact discussing same person is a female shows living in Netherlands In state of GEL and is a registered user on the OGR ogauge Train Forum and was involved with lionel mth electric trains and so on.
she shared with all on forum she had cancer and last time she posted to forum she said had one last attempt to cure her of cancer but if we heard nothing after that we should surmise she had indeed lost her battle.

we have tried so hard to learn of her since middle of 2014 so please if by any chance you can confirm all of this as being the correct person and possible attach an obituary so we can post it on the OGR Forum and pay tribute and remember a truly remarkable person. I extend our sympathies to you and any other Family or Friends even if this is not the correct person we seek information on.
Thank You for your patience on this matter.

I have tried searching obituaries in Netherlands but unsure if such a thing exists there like in the US. all we have to use is her last name Cox country Netherlands and State Gel ! is Gel short for Gelderland? or is it not even in the Netherlands? well nice that you have  her cell phone to bad on how you acquired it not exactly the best of circumstances!

Miss Cox had a lot of OGR Forum Friends so I may not be the exact one she was referring too! I am waiting on another forum member to get back with me see where we go from here with the information you have shared so far

Words cannot adequately express how sad I was to learn of Nicole's passing. While not unexpected given the state of her progressively worsening health, I really hoped that one or more of the experimental treatments she had undergone would yield positive results. I lost contact with her at the worst possible time, and will forever regret that having happened. I know she had hoped to be able to pay at least one visit to York, and I had assured her that I would do the best I could to help make that happen. Unfortunately, time did not cooperate. Nicole was a tremendously positive, productive, and valued contributor to this forum, and a true asset to this hobby. I, along with many others here, are grateful that she was a part of our little family. She most certainly will not be forgotten.

I've lost some train friends to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, heart attack etc. It's better to remember the good parts of past friendships and not dwell on the sad parts.

No-one gets a guarantee on longevity. My brother died of cancer at age 25.

Nicole was a lively and interesting participant on the forum.

She was a fantastic person who I had the pleasure to speak with  via email on many  occasions . Her passion and  knowledge for trains was amazing. I remember she was looking for a 1957 Chevy model car, I had a few on my layout and one or two brand new ones in the box. I emailed her and told her I would gladly ship one  to her , she was thrilled when she received it.

Not sure if everyone on the forum knows what her forum name stood for.

Not Quite Dead Yet

Nicole you're missed very much, rest in peace

Nicole was a beacon of positiveness and helped define the joy of life for many of us. Seeing her image in a previous post on this thread brought her loss home to me again.  Alex, thank you for letting us know what happened to her.  She was a beautiful spirit and we are all a little less without her, which I guess was her gift to all of us on the Forum.
