WHen this arrived two years ago, it was supposedly a runner. Unfortunately it was damaged in shipping. The seller would not cut me a break, he wanted me to return it. I think he didn’t believe me about the damage. Just couldn’t bare to let it go, so I ate it. From the outside it looked great, but the frame was bent, easy fix. The big issue was when it was dropped or whatever, the motor was slammed forward and took out a handful of teeth on the axle drive. No parts available. Dave at CMT sent me one of each type of gear he had, no luck. Took a long time, bit I found a CMC Mogul that was complete, but ugly. Stole the rear axle set from that and swapped it out. FYI, Camelbacks are a pain to reassemble.

Thanks for sharing Steve! That's a great and pretty unusual tinplate engine.

Not sure about your situation, but today, almost everything I send and receive is through USPS Priority Mail. They provide some insurance for free. It may not cover the whole item, but may defray some cost in a repair. You can also buy more as a shipper for a couple of bucks.
