My brother for several yrs now has been in charge of maintaining hiking trails near Halifax NS. and there is a CN caboose at the site that was rebuilt in 2000 and now needs paint as the older stuff is flaking off. Wondering which way to attack repainting the unit. This Caboose was built as a boxcar for the Canadian Government Railways (#552241) by National Steel Car of Hamilton, Ontario in 1918. It was acquired by Canadian National Railways and used as a boxcar (#414391) until 1951 when it was rebuilt as a caboose (#78810) at the CN-Fort Rouge Shops in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was rebuilt again by the Musquodoboit Trailways Association in 2000.
