CNJ 113, a large, if not THE largest 0-6-0, made it's second and more "substantial" test run recently. It has been under a slow, outdoor restoration under tarps with no shop in Minersville, Pa for many years. It was restored on an abandoned spur but due to the condition of the track, it only ran a few feet on its first test run prior to it's big outing since restoration. This was it's second test run.

its too bad some sort or tourist railroad couldnt be set up in New Jersey, Just outside NYC. Could you imagine the exposure a steam powered tourist railroad could get outside of NYC?

well, there is the NYSW group that runs steam excursions in Phillipsburg, NJ, 1 hour from NYC. also the Black River and Western runs steam from Flemington to Ringoes, a scant 40 minutes from NYC.

and I believe the Pine Creek RR stills runs in Allaire State Park, about 1 hour from NYC.
