A well made presentation.

I rode the CT&S back in 1977.  The accommodations weren't quite as luxurious.  Passengers rode in converted boxcars with plastic dinette seats screwed to the floor.  Spent most of the time standing and moving through the train, though.  It was still a great ride.  I think the fare was 25 bucks back then.

I have always wanted to ride the C&TT so last year I finally made it and I am so glad I did. Stayed at a nice B&B across from the Chama yards and met some nice people from the East Coast. Took a lot of photos in the late afternoon and evening at the Chama yards as the crews were servicing 3 engines. I had full access to every part of the yard for photos.

The next day, my wife and I rode the train to Antonito and were bused back Chama. The ride was fantastic, more than I ever imagined. The food at Osier station was very good and plentiful. We rode in the parlor car, but I spent almost the entire trip in the open air gondola, couldn't get enough photos, sights, sounds and smell of engine 488.

I will do this again, but next time will include a side trip to Durango.
