Just a friendly heads up that the Smithsonian Channel will be playing a new historical series called COMBAT TRAINS.

I caught the tail end of The Death Railway... sad how many POW's passed to build this railroad under the horrible regime of the Japanese Army.

Here is the link for the schedule... so far I am enjoying...

During World War I, the British converted a large number of commuter train cars into ambulance cars. These mobile hospitals had the facilities to cater up to 500 men.

From the Series: Combat Trains: Ambulance Trains / Full episodes will be free on: "YouTube", coming soon.        Smithsonian Channel

Will wait for the DVD. Only available on Spectrum (formerly Time-Warner) Premium, and there's sure no way I would pay that much for 200 TV channels, only three or four of which are even remotely worth watching.

I here yah... we some how get the Smithsonian channel on our basic package. Great channel to watch.

Good episode, solid history.  I can't remember if it was a commercial or spliced in stock footage, but there was a closeup shot with "475" which I recognized as a Strasburg locomotive
