They're very nice. Do you know what period they're from and if they were used in any theatre of operations?
Paul, Probably CONUS during WW II and Korea. John in Lansing, ILL
Some became Monon cars Paul.
I think of my Dad when I see stuff like this. Wounded at Cassino in Italy and shipped back to the states. Went by hospital train to Ogden, Utah. Later back to Fitzsimons in Denver. He had a personal male nurse for that trip. "Nicest guy I ever met." Lived the rest of his life with half a lung and steel plate in his side. Still managed to raise a family and lived to 77.
Paul,
I am far from an expert on these cars so I will defer.
TripleO,
Hit me with an e-mail. My father-in-law, Phil Munoz (after whom we have named our railroad) was badly wounded in Cassino and shipped home lie your dad. Perhaps they knew each other.
There is at least one original hospital car at the museum at Spencer, NC. I can't remember the details, maybe someone can.
Well i am on the "payment plan" so it will be a while before I can get them.
