This has been discussed, and I'm about 95% sure it won't work. The CC board electronically triggers the switch movement, both the remote and the non-derailing feature have a physical contact that would activate the parallel switch.
Gordy,
Unfortunately you can not program the same number into your Legacy Cab2 twice, you must program each individual switch, and remotely activate each individual switch. However I have been think about running a jumper wire from one switch to the next, so you would program the 1st switch and that programmed switch would activate the next switch, from your Cab2 at the same time, however I have not even had the time to experiment with this set up. I do believe however it will work, set up in this manner.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you're wrong Dave.
Dave,
Why can't you give the command switches the same ID# when it's programmed? Then when you fire SW ID# they will both fire.
I use the RTE function and keep separate ID#'s.
What Gordy is asking about is your second scenario, which GRJ says has issues. A CC and a remote jumpered together.
OK, this is embarassing! I did a test of connecting two switches, one command and one just a remote. I can switch them with the controller, and the non-derailing rails as I expected. However, I can also switch both with the TMCC remote, which I did NOT expect!
What can I say...
That's great news ! I can use my remotes in crossover sit's. How did ypu connect the CC to the remote ????
I just ran three wires between the Thru, Out, and Gnd connections on the two switches. Both were running on track power, though that certainly shouldn't make any difference. One was a command model, one was the plain remote model, both O36.
Many thanks to all. You have been a great help and a money saver for my layout !!!
I learned something in the bargain as well, I'd have bet money that the electronic command would not switch the attached non-command switch! I'd be out some money.
