Ok, where will the rails go? I thought all the CNJ east of Aldene was ripped up at some point after the 1967 ramp track installation? And the Newark Bay Bridge is gone. Would be nice to have rail excursions on NJT though. But would the freight railroads be on board? Like Conrail Shared Assets, NS and CSX? Would they allow any excursions? I know CSX won't allow steam, but would they allow an occasional diesel excursion? Would be nice to have some CNJ F's pull a trip from Jersey City to Allentown, Jim Thorpe, High Bridge, etc. A few years ago the Lehigh Limited ran from Hoboken to Bethlehem using an NS GP40, NJT unit, and M&E Alco.
Honestly, there SHOULD be a RR museum there. Not only to have a place to store the equipment but to make use of the historic landmark. Someone told me the salt air would ruin the cars but I have not heard about any I'll effects on the baggage car still there!

How are they getting these trains there? by truck? There's no direct rail connection.
Seeing is believing. Constant bs about any form of a railroad museum in New Jersey, etc. Much of the saved stuff for a proposed "anything" has been just rotting away for years.
If anything... they would be moved there and will be landlocked and static for the rest of days then...
Never going to happen. Have the station repairs needed from Sandy ever been done? There is enough issues with the building itself, let alone bringing in equipment for a museum.
