Can anyone point me to a comprehensive demonstration of Lionel's LCS?

I put my layout plans on the shelf a few years ago, and kind of stepped away from the hobby.  Meanwhile I know that Lionel has added sensor tracks, electronic modules, coal and water levels on locomotives, etc.  So what does the finished product do when it's all put together and operating as an integrated system, especially for someone who is interested in realistic operation?  I'm hoping there's a Lionel factory demo, or a video made by someone in this community that showcases all the best features of the system at the present time.

The idea of a (mostly) self-operating layout intrigues me. Honestly, something like LCS is the best reason I can think of to go with a "command base"-type system and not direct R/C such as Lionchief Plus.

Finally... does anyone know whether the LCS modules support any degree of randomization?  In other words... visitors could watch your layout for a while and the operating sequence wouldn't always be the same.  A different loco might start up or follow a different route, different crew talk, etc. @Dave Olson  Thanks!!

I'm sure Lionel has some tutorial videos on their web site, but I'm not sure if they would be exactly what you are looking for.

If you have specific questions about LCS or any of the command systems, I would be happy to help.

As far as I know, Lionel has no way to randomize train operations.

You might also want to check out my Windows and Android TMCC/1L/Legacy/LCS compatible software by clicking on the links in my signature below.

I am having problems using the Lionel LCS AMC2 to control an atlas turntable - i followed the programming instructions but the turntable just continues to turn at one speed - moving the throttle knob does not do anything - the light on the AMC2 blinks rapidly when i move the knob but the turntable does not change speed/direction/sor stop.  what could i be doing wrong?

It looks like you are doing everything correctly according to the manual.  However, Lionel sometimes has typos in their manuals.  Case in point , "1. Continuions".  I would reprogram Motor 1 to setting 1 Continuous, and see what happens.  Also, try both settings 1 and 2 for Motor 2 as well.  Maybe something is wrong with one of them.  You might want to try programming the AMC2 as an Engine or Train and see if that makes a difference.
