Computer in your train room ??? ( not phone or laptop )

I have a desktop Windows PC on a stand by my layout for monitoring and controlling my trains with LCC and Traincontroller Gold.

I don’t have a computer in the train room, but do take my laptop down there to look at parts diagrams and my parts list. If I had a extra laptop, I’d probably leave it down there.

Does my son's gaming set up count? I used to have a PC there but I lost use of the desk years ago......

I do have a laptop handy should the need arise.

Use it every day.  My workbench is to the left, layout is behind me.

I have a computer in the workshop and it's invaluable.  Things on it:

• Inventory (spreadsheets) - locomotives, rolling stock, building materials, electrical components
• Diagrams (Visio) - wiring, structures
• Track plans (RR-Track)
• Arduino programs & environments

It's pretty much essential.

I have toyed with putting a computer and monitor in the trainroom for the purpose of installing a fast clock.  Still TBD.

I've had one up there in the train room since we moved in 5 years ago. When it broke, I realized how much I depend on it for daily use. I keep parts inventory (10 parts cabinets) and train inventory on it, with backups on my downstairs PC. I would be lost without it!!

I use my computer in my train room all the time, Where else would it be so handy to read your OGR post and to answer the posts with all my model RR photographs stored in the computer. I scratch build all my models and the computer is right there with photos, graphs and anything else I need to make signs, siding, buildings, bridges right at my finger tips.

The Computer helped me build my layout.
