I couldn't find anything about this in previous posts, so here goes...
Does anyone know of a computer program for rolling stock and structures that will let you enter a few dimensions, then draw a plan for you? I spend a LOT of time measuring buildings I wish to model. Many thanks!

Hi Alan,
a quick search provided various free 3D modeling applications. But, when you want to create 2D layout plans in a chosen scale you are required to purchase the full version of the software.
Sketckup with Layout looks easy enough to learn. It will take your measurements and then enable you to create scale plans to build the models for $600. You can get Student and\or educator licenses for free for one year.
