Hi all, I would like to connect a MTH Z1000 controller to an older transformer. The Z1000 controller gets its power through a female barrel jack on the rear of the unit next to the output posts. Is there a male barrel jack with a pigtail installed that will work in this situation? If so where can I get it from?

Sure, you used to get them at Radio Shack when they were still selling parts, now I get them from places like eBay. It's a 5.5mm x 2.1mm pin barrel connector. Here's ten of them for $2 with free shipping, and they ship from the US! eBay: 262693844275
I'm not sure to be honest. I'm finally getting to build my layout. I bought a z1000 just to test my power car's and test 2 power cars together so I could pull a 8 car system. I'm fairly new to bilding my layout. I actually started to build a layout to have a more realistic background to the work I do into my cars but now I'm building a underground and elevated system...lol lets say I'll be asking alot of questions myself.
