I was running three trains on the layout today. One train at 20smph, one at 25smph, and one i had pushed to 40smph.

I started to slow the train from 40 back to about 20, but nothing happened. I slowed the other two trains and stopped

them. I tried reselecting the train and anything else I could think of with no change in speed. I finally hit he stop and

the train stopped. After I shut all power down to reset, I powered up and everything worked fine. The engines are all

MTH and the control is DCS. Any ideas?

I do not see a restart button on my DCS remote. I tried reselecting the the engine

that I was trying to control, when moving the thumb wheel the setting on the

remote would change but the train would not slow down. I even tried pushing the

direction button with no effect. The e-stop was the last thing I thought I could try

to see if the remote would have any effect on the engine and it stopped and forced

me to shut down the power and restart everything. How can it have total control of

two other engines but no control of the third.

It is possible that a signal was lost and even so for just a few milliseconds then the locomotive may not respond. Also, recheck all batteries on remotes. I would start with one locomotive. Preferably the one that started this mess. if she runs as requested, then add another and then another until you are satisfied all three or more are running as requested.

Good Luck,

Charles, When I mentioned the restart button I was actually referring to the start button to initially start up a loco. Sometime you can regain control by just pushing the start button on the DCS handheld. Otherwise if that doesn't work just shut the power off to the track that the out of control engine is on and start over again with the startup sequence for that loco.

I did press the start up and the shut down with no effect. The only thing that had any

effect was the e-stop. I might understand loosing control of everything but I'm trying

to understand why you would loose control of one engine and still have control of

the other two. From the responce I've gotten, I don't guess anybody has any idea what

happened.

Thanks anyway
