I need some help.  I am about to set up my Ross Custom Switches turntable and would like to control it via the Legacy remote, not the umbilical control panel that is supplied with the accessory.

I asked Steve at RCS and he said "the tiny white connector from tmcc plugs directly in to the red box."  He also said, "the white connector is a Lionel item. Its already on the tmcc base."  But, he wasn't sure about the connection for a Legacy Base 2.  Does anyone know what the "tiny white connector" is and where do I connect from the Legacy 2 base to the red box of the turntable?

I've included some pictures to help explain the situation.

Thanks,

Greg

That red box looks like a LCS accessory box, the two PDI connectors gives it away.  You need the Lionel LCS power supply and cable to connect that to the serial port of the Legacy system.

Lionel L6-81499 CS DB9 Cable with Power Supply

However, no offense to Steve, but the little white connector does NOT come with either TMCC or Legacy command systems, it's an LCS item.

Thanks John!  All of my components are TMCC (TPC's BPC's etc) and DZ 2500 Motors that run to my Legacy Base 2 and do not use any LCS devices or hardware.

So I have a few questions.

# 1. With this new adaptor, would I still have to use the original plug that powers the base?

#2. I assume the PDI connector plugs into the red box of the turn table.  If I need more than 10' does Lionel sell extension cables for this purpose?

#3.  Currently, my serial port from the base goes to a "Manco" serial booster which is connected to the DZ2001 Data Line driver (to operate the DZ2500 switch motors) and then goes to port for the Dat/Com connections to the TMCC components (pictures included).  Where would the connection be for the DB9 of the power supply and cable?

Thanks,

Greg

For your installation, I suspect you also might need the SER2 to add an extra serial port.
Lionel 6-81326 LCS Serial Converter 2 (SER2)

You plug the serial cable currently going to the command base into the SER2 box.

FWIW, I also use the DZ2001 for my DZ-2500 switch machines.
