I have a number of Lemax/Dept. 56 type buildings I plan to use on my lay out.  These are lit with regular AC outlet type lights that I will have plugged into a power strip.  Is there a way to "Turn On/Off" the whole strip with a simple toggle switch (see pic) mounted on my main control board?  I would like to have one simple switch to turn on all the lights.  I realize the power strip will have it's own on/off switch, but this will most likely be mounted under my table somewhere...

Here is what you need.  There were a ton of these in the after Christmas sections of Lowes and Walmart. There are 3 channels, you can have 3 power strips doing different parts of the scene. One for the building lights during the day. One for all the outside lights for a night scene.  I have one for the Walthers Palace since I don't like it running all the time.

Two items.   First the toggle switch should be rated for 120 or 240 volts, usually they are marked.  You can control the outlet that powers your plug strip via the switch you are showing.  I have one wall switch inside the trainroom door that kills all layout power. Wall outlet lower left is wire to the switch by the door.

Note the plug strip lower picture.
