Can the Cab 3 app control a BPC2 via the Base 3? I can switch my track power on and off via the Cab 2 remote (Lionel 990) but can’t figure out how to do it via the Cab 3 app. I tried using Aux 1 and Aux 2 but no luck.

I’m pretty sure I’ve done this and it’s basically the same as Cab2. Address it and use Aux1 or Aux2.
I should have put that in the post. I tried that and it didn’t work. In fact, I had an engine on the tracks I haven’t program,ed yet, and aux 2 toggled its lights (was trying to control power block #1).
Wouldn't this be the same issue as the Power Masters have with Cab3 app not supporting turning on track power programmed as a TR? @Dave Olson already stated that this will be fixed in the future. Until the update, use a Cab2 or Cab1L to turn on power.

Is it setup as an accessory? Mine are. Not home right now but I try when I get home.

No, mine are set to TRack…
Thanks,

All my BPC2's have a TR TMCC ID.
Dave, my Base 3 is still safely in its shipping box awaiting Lionel's scheduled September 1st publication of the updated maintenance software. No way I am going to manually enter 60 engine ID's. The updated software will upload all the ID's as a batch.
In any event, I turn the blocks on and off with the LCS software on the iPAD. The layout has 30 blocks, no way I could remember all those TMCC ID's. Touching the track block on the iPAD layout mimic displays is the only viable way.

Why not play with it off the layout and learn?

Jim, probably. Thanks.

Marty, that is logical, but I have a number of things in the que ahead of that. I was waiting to get the updated iPad Mini, but that looks to be delayed so I will get the current Mini to host the Cab 3 app. With that I can unpack the Base 3 and make a Black module of the 990 Base files.
The reality is that for S gauge the Base 3 just causes more work with no immediate benefit. Remember there are no S gauge Legacy engines with Bluetooth and any future S gauge engines will not get 4 digit addressing. All but one of my FlyerChief engines have been converted to TMCC so I do not need the Cab 2 control of FlyerChief capability. I sound like I am whining but am not. Its just time and some travel priorities this month.
On a slightly related note, I am beginning to have second thoughts about skipping fall York. We are in Pittsburgh through Sunday of the week prior but I was outvoted in diverting to York on Monday. Will you be able to host a Base 3/Cab 3 seminar at York?
I just confirmed that I can control the BPC2s, programmed as accessories, from the Cab3 app.

Thanks. I’d like to run the BPC2s using TR mode, but it is good to know I can reprogram them as Accessories and control power.

Unfortunately not this time. I am however looking at a possibility of another Virtual Legacy / Base3 event with Lionel.
Marty,
Should we reconfigure the BPC2 as an accessory to use them on the CAB3 or will this be available as a future update? For now, I use it as a Track to turn on several tracks on my yard. The LCS app is working fine connected to the BASE3 and I can use it to control power in the my yard.

I suspect it will be fixed but I'm not sure when. This is entirely up to you whether to change or not. If your ok using the LCS App I'd be inclined to wait it out.
