Is the only way to control TMCC Fastrack switches by hooking them up through my AIU or can I send a tmcc signal too them using my DCS handheld?

I do have my TIU hooked to my legacy base and control my TMCC engines using my DCS handheld.  I was just hopping it would be 2 less switches I have to wire in my AIU.

Another question, what is your preferred way for us to purchase your book?  I was going to pick up a copy, but knowing how publishing rights and stuff can suck, I was wondering what method of your book makes you the most money

I very much appreciate your concern. What would be best for me is for you go to MTH's web site:

http://www.mthtrains.com/content/60-1279

and order whichever copy, eBook or print book, best fits your needs. The content often two versions is identical.

Alternately, you cash purchase it from your local hobby shop, if they carry the book. If they don't, tell them they should and to contact me via E-mail.

Thanks!

Don't take this wrong.  I love Barry's book and am not trying to slam him or it in any way or start a big discussion.  I just didn't know if you were aware that the electronic version needs a password every time you access it.  Some find this so irritating that they are better off with the hard copy.  This is a great book and I am sure you will be glad you bought it.  I hope this helps...

I will check with Wild Bills this week, and if he doesn't have it I will tell Bert to carry it!

Hi Jdevleerjr,

can I send a tmcc signal too them using my DCS handheld?

Once upon a time there was a way...

From the Wayback Machine...    RN Manufacturing TMCC Enabler

The TMCC Enabler was a short lived device that converted the contact closures of an AIU into TMCC switch commands.  It also had 1 amp stall motor outputs.  I purchased a couple of them for one of my clients who wanted to use them to drive DZ-2500 switch machines in TMCC mode with a minimum of wiring.  Sadly, they did not take off in the market place and the website disappeared around 2007.

For me, the digital (PDF) edition of Barry's book, "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", is the best option. I have it conveniently in front of me on my iPad -- and I can perform a search to quickly locate the information I need. I do not mind having to type in the password to access the digital PDF book.

The ONLY downfall is that I cannot get Barry's autograph on the digital version of his most-impressive book -- and I do not want him to sign my iPad screen with a Sharpie.
