A number of years ago, I started modeling an 0n30 layout based on the Robbins RR /Thunder lake lumber company, In Northen Wisconsin. I was drawn to the size ( being a former S gauger) and was surprised how close they were. I ended up converting several AF cars to On30, after seeing what I was doing, A close friend, (The late Jim Brown, A former president of B.S.G.) , converted several Bachmann 0 narrow gauge cars to S scale. Have any of you done this?

I have converted a few Bachman Spectrum wooden reefers from On30 to S gauge. I used the trucks and couplers from American models and modified the car's under frame to let the trucks sit lower/closer to the floor.

He used ACE trucks, and was unsure the company even existed any more. I have been out of scale since 93, and a lot has changed. these spectrum cars, would make a nice train behind a couple of Rex engines
Since Bachmann no longer offers the On2½ two-bay open hopper, I thought about getting an American Flyer two-bay hopper to experiment with converting to On2½ but have not yet done so. The physical sizes of the two cars are very close so it just might work.
