I'm looking to convert a Weaver U25B locomotive to 2 rail....Can it be done? Is it something I can do on my own? Can anyone recommend someone that could possibly do it ? Terry

I struggle to spell his last name. Baldwin Forge machine I believe?
I have converted one using Weaver 2 rail trucks.
Depends how mechanical you are. It might be better to sell the 3 rail one and just buy a 2 rail engine.

Rick
that maybe the best advice when possible.
Does it have a chain drive with a single motor or two vertical motors? Weaver is out of business, the later drive parts, like two wheel trucks are hard to get. The chain drive parts are available.
Joe foelkorb is who you are thinking of

Yes.

Yes.

Yes, you.
Or, you can pay Joe F. if he has the time and is willing.
My shop has been closed for outside work since late June but I will be accepting work at the upcoming Strasburg meet for fall delivery. Converting a Weaver diesel would not be a problem. I machine NWSL wheels to fit whatever axles are on a model, insulated on one side with Gaorlite rod for 2 rail operation.
