Is there a way to convert a TMMC 2-8-0 Consolidaton to Legacy? Could one buy the parts for the 2-8-0 Consolidation Southern and gut the TMMC SP or UP and put in those electronics??

The parts should fit but what advantage would you expect Legacy to have over TMCC with cruise? I doubt there is any room for any of the bell or smoke effects.

I stuck a CCM in mine. Works great. I still need to do a fan smoke/4 chuff update but it runs nice and smooth.
IR sensor control. Crew talk etc.
Keep in mind you would have to swap the motor too to get the tach sensor and the gear may be different. They made a Legacy SP 2-8-0. Might be less expensive to sell yours and get the new engine.

Yes, I get your point. There is a Southern Legacy for sale but I am looking either for UP or SP. Anyone has one of those, I am interested.
Buy the Southern engine and swap shells rather than swap all the internals.
Edit: the swap would not be straightforward as the TMCC engine has a wired tether and Legacy a wireless plus the Southern engine has road and cab number specific Railsounds. Looks like the choices are use the electronics from the Legacy SP engine or find a complete Legacy engine.
It can be done but not inexpensively.
