I was unable to sell my heavy weights at a price that would allow me to purchase 4 additional Polar Express cars, so I am repainting my wabash set into a PE set. I will use my existing PE observation car.

You can check the prices, but I would think you would do better to find a damaged/cheap car at a swap meet and cannibalize the parts from that. I'd prefer that approach myself because I can hold the piece in my hand and check if I really think its what I need. I've done conversions of the other way, but never back to normal from an observation.
I picked up a HW WbB car that had a crack in the body for $9....just for the parts!
I'd look of r the same as your car.

This would be a great "how to" article for the OGR magazine. When everything is said and done could you post the color formulation used? Many are those who would like to have this information. In this forum and the Tinplate Forum.
I would be happy to put together all the info, as I learn it. So many folks have helped me out from this forum, glad to return the favor.

I have a local auto body shop that custom matches & mixes PPG paint in as small a quantity as 1 oz. I would bet 6 oz is all I would need with my airbrush. I will lean on AMCDAVE to produce the new decals.
You could use a 9500-012 Vestibule. Jeff @ ttender.com has them.
