in easy terms, what the difference is between an 8 ohm resistor and a 6 ohm resistor? and can they be interchanged, what would the effect be? as it relates to smoke units.
The 6 ohm resistor will draw more current and produce more heat with the same applied voltage. As to if they can be exchanged, that would depend on what is driving them. If it's the Lionel smoke regulator module, I recommend against doing that, as that module is running pretty near the limit already.
Thank you. because my 6-11212 nkp berk has a 6 ohm resistor and other berks like 6-38076 have a 8 ohm resistor and my northern 6-11332 has an 8 ohm. according to my research.
