Lionel conversion wiring for American Flyer Cow on  Track

1) Remove rectangular resistor completely.

2) Cut Black wire from post #4 (at the resistor).

3) Cut black wire from "button" (under copper contact) at terminal #2

4) Cut black wire from other end of resistor.

5) Connect terminal #4 black wire to "button" black wire.

6) connect other cut black wire to center rail on hot section of original     block.

7) Remaining three wires are to be connected as original American Flyer     instructions show.

8) Connect a wire from the bottom of the "button" to accessory side of transformer.

This sets up two separate circuits - one for the cow which is not     affected by train speed -- and one for the track.

In order to protect the E Unit from going into neutral reattach the original resistor as follows:

A)       Attach one side to track power wire going to unprotected side of block. Do not attach this wire inside of the cow mechanism directly as it will slow down or prevent the motion of the cow.

B)       Attach the other end of the resistor to terminal #1. This means that there will be two wires attached to terminal #1.
