 Thank Goodness, he is GONE.

From what I hear, the new guy has had huge picture of # 2816 on his office wall, for a few years now and loves steam(if its the same guy)

Other rumours are the Canadian Government recently approached CP about having # 2816 running for Canada's 150 year celebrations, but Hunter said "NO". Perhaps, this will change.

 What a relief

Why does Hunter hate steam so much? Why does CSX hate steam? 611 and 844 can run on NS and UP, and 261 can run on BNSF, but nothing can run on CSX anymore. I guess if HH becomes CEO of CSX, any hopes of future steam on CSX can go right out the window. Does Jim Squires like steam like Wick did? The 611 wouldn't be running if Jim was hostile to steam like HH and CSX. I hope CP 2816 can run again, that the next CEO of CP has a heart. We need more Claytors and Moormans at the helms of class 1 railroads that appreciate history and things that interact with the public, like steam excursions and other events.

Is Hunter that anti toward steam? So bad that if he took over CSX that 765 wouldn't be able to touch one inch of CSX rail during a ferry move? I know he killed CP's steam program with 2816 after he took over, which was down for repairs anyway, so it remained parked. I guess he is like one of those CEO's that is all business and no fun. Wasn't David Goode of NS the same way? After he took over he killed NS's steam program with 611 end of 1994 and made it difficult to bring it back by selling all the steam shop stuff off. Well, guess what, thanks to NS's next CEO after Goode, Charles "Wick" Moorman, 611 is back on NS rails pulling excursions, even this year. It was his idea to bring 611 back to provide a more powerful locomotive for the program. The 21st Century program ended after 2015, but NS is still letting 611 run.
