I recently purchased a CP Rail GENSET Hybrid with Legacy. It is running fine EXCEPT for the fact that after the legacy rail sounds shutdown sequence and removal of power from the track, the back up battery power does not shut off. I have the same engine in the GE Demonstrator version and never experienced this problem. I have tried resetting the engine and deleting and re- adding it to the legacy remote to no avail. The problem does not occur in conventional mode and it almost seems as though it does shut off when the track power is removed after a few seconds, but then kicks right back on. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!!

Someone else here had the same issue and it turned out to be a defective board in the locomotive. I'd contact Lionel and ask the question.
