saw a commercial about their breakfast specials, and there was an O Gauge 0-6-0 pulling a string of gondolas carrying syrup. Looked to me like maybe a MTH engine. Nothing on the tender, but the cab number was 400 or 4000 something, I;d guess UP.

Dave,
Thanks for the "heads-up."
Tom
Looks like an 0-8-0 to me. Hard to tell if it's an RTR engine or a scale one, looks to me like it could be both.

That looks like the one in the Lionel starter sets (that were often broken up by dealers), that came with either THAT tender, in several different real and imaginary roadnames, or the Vanderbilt one in SP and GN livery. I have modified one into a 2-8-0 and will do another as a 2-8-2. I look for the Vanderbilt tenders. I missed that ad, but have been found in Cracker Barrel stuffing my face with "Grandma's" (not on the menu, ask for it).
I have to laugh at this thread. We are all so obsessed with trains LOL.Nick
It's just a Pennsy Flyer(or equivalent) 0-8-0 from a starter set, with its matching tender, and road specific graphics blacked out.
Looks like 027 tubular track, maybe O tubular. Guess they had a budget to stay under . . . not using Fastrak or Realtrax.

Yes, the trains are important to us! But, don't leave out the importance of a good Cracker Barrel breakfast with coffee. Actually I'll take the train with breakfast please.

YEA and browsing that store they have.Looking in those books from a thousand years ago in 1964 to see what was going on when I was born!HAHAHA..Nick
Whoever set up the ad gets points for having the tender correctly oriented behind the engine. I've seen plenty of photographs of model trains with the tender reversed.
I have always liked the Cracker Barrel business, great food, now I like them even more, yes I am obsessed with O Gauge Trains, Great obsession to have, especially with fantastic food! Jonny I agree with you 100%!
Nick,
Good grief you are making me feel seriously old, 1964 was just yesterday, 1940 now that was a little while ago. Nick the picture above is me being held by my Father on Christmas of 1949/1950. 1964 was an eye blink ago.

Yes, they needed to black out the road name just in case some lawyer in his 100's who used to work for the Southern Railway as a young man decided to sue them. Can't be too careful about trademark infringements.
Well, I would hope all know there is a Cracker Barrel in York south on I-83, so you don't have to do without when attending the fairgrounds show (I just wish it was closer to the fairgrounds)
