I know crossing gates and signals are a important part of any layout.  I have the lionel main line crossing gates with the 153ir (6-14111) which is very nice. I have the MTH crossing signals again with the 153ir. It is my recent purchase of the Z stuff DZ1020s Crossing flasher with two block signal detectors which I would like to comment on.  I got the DZ1020s through wholesaletrains.com for a great price ( they still have some in stock). I think it is the best crossing signal I have. Easy to wire for both directions, looks great with the block signal detectors on either side of the track. It sounds good.  Made the layout a little bit more real looking.  I would like to see Z Stuff try to make the base for the flashers a little smaller (or next time I use them cut a hole so they will be level with the street) or do away with the base, then they would be perfect. Just thinking out loud.
