I converted my Lionel 777 Commodore Vanderbilt and now it's one of my best runners.

The job took:

-a can motor from Frank Timko (Timko repair depot)

-a Cruise Commander from electric railroad

-a little time and patience

-fixing a binding side rod

I re-used the Railsounds 2 in the tender and added a magnet and reed switch to the tender wheels to get a pseudo two chuffs per revolution.

I'm no expert on this matter, however, the ERR website states the following:

  AC COMMANDER KIT
The AC Commander kit is for locomotives with AC Motors, also known as Pullmor Motors (motors with visible brushes).  This upgrade provides Command and Conventional Mode operation.  Additional outputs are supplied for front light, rear light, and electro-couplers.  Output multipurpose output for smoke, cab light, or strobe light, selected by "feature code" provided.
