Is the CSX Hanover sub still a healthy CSX branch? What trains use this? And what kind of activity does the old Reading Gettysburg branch see these days? I havn't been up there in years.

The Hanover sub is ok, the western end sees a local from Hanover to Hagerstown daily, most traffic comes from Maryland Midland at Highfield,MD. the grit mill(GAF roofing plant at Greenstone,PA., several accounts between Gettysburg(Gettysburg RR) and Hanover, and York Railway at Porters,PA.
Gettysburg RR runs a couple of times per week to MT. Holly Springs,PA. to interchange with NS, still serves several accounts around Biglerville, and lately has been storing oil tankers on surplus sidings.

Thanks. I wonder if CSX will unload the whole thing to MM?

I can't predict the future, but you are aware that Genesee and Wyoming owns both the MMID and York Railway?
It was no real secret in past years that CSX would like to keep the Hanover sub out of NS's hands, but I don't know if that matters now.
The attached photos were taken back in 2011, but this was a big surprise and I don't know why NS power was on the CSX local that day.

Looks like they have installed welded rail on the Hanover SUB.
