OMG they finally did it!!! Csx put out a b&o heritage es44 as per multiple pics on social media. It is looking like I may finally get to see a wm and chessie es44. I’m thinking I may be getting quite a few rail king es44s if they make a bunch of heritage units.

That's cool. I dig the heritage stuff. I didn't know CSX was resisting the heritage experience.
I think railroads will do anything for good P.R. these days!
Hopefully BNSF will do some of their own actual heritage units. I would totally buy a few BNSF heritage locos from Lionel (and maybe MTH if I get DCS). Most of the other Class 1 Railroads have them: UP, CN, and NS.
I saw another video mentioning up to 20 HU's being produced....no specifics beyond the number.
Imagine if they didn't do a Chessie System unit

B&o, western md, chessie and conrail are what I’d be buying if they made them all. There is a rumor of 25 units going around Facebook

I’d have to really limit it to 3 or 4, Atlas or imperial mth. A part of me would love 20+, but I don’t have bankruptcy plans.
Whoa, i just realized American railroading will observe its bicentennial in, 4 years...

Now that will be very special won't it?
Time for another big rail fair, like Chicago's in 1947/1948. As @BenLMaggi mentioned the railroads could use some good PR for once.

Even if it's gonna have that fade thing I eagerly await the Atlantic Coast Line unit, that purple and silver combo is gonna look absolutely awesome.
Personally, I think the fade on the B&O looks hideous, but to each their own lol. The Lionel fantasy ACL heritage Sd70ace will probably be better looking that whatever CSX rolls out. That's kinda sad

Maybe it is because I already have a true b&o heritage sd70 from Lionel, but I look forward to getting a fade unit. It will probably be a rail king one, but I’m definitely getting one (and hopefully a caboose to match). I will miss the chessie logo on the nose, but it’s still gonna be amazing!
Their executive units don’t count as Heritage painted units?

They do, but I didn’t think of them as heritage, as they’re not really normal use units.
Chessie just got unveiled.
Looks great, thanks for posting.
Now, I am going to need to buy a scale sized version for my layout.

Since I don’t see me getting o54 min+ for the Lionel version, I’ll be on the lookout for an atlas chessie and a mth imperial b&o. Not sure what I’ll do for western md. Any other road names that catch my eye would probably be rk imperial.
Is that a promo for the heritage units? If it is, we might be getting a fireball western md unit, which would be really cool.
No, it’s not a promo, it’s just an old poster. Don’t rely on it for anything.
Here's the story from Trains. Sharp looking unit
Fellas what are we thinking? Next fall for the o scale models to be delivered?
Looks good to me.

You can add the Seaboard System to the list of CSX “heritage” units. The engine number is 1982.
