Where do the geniuses come from??
I hope the train crew are ok. I bet though there are signs along that have images of no trucks or trucks that can get stuck on the tracks. I've seen 1 of though's signs in person in Mentor Ohio.

they get flushed out having to make decisions like this. Also how close to follow someone on the freeway, when to take a selfie while driving, etc.
Here, it probably was a lack of engineering mistake of some kind. Truck design vs. crossing design. If it can happen, it will sort of thing.
He did try and do something to prevent the disaster though. I give him credit for trying. Some would just sit there.
Might be a good idea for all drivers to have their local RR crossing numbers in their cell speed dial. Calling the RR direct might get info to trains faster than calling 911. But in this case both calls need to be made.
Wonder if that train was carrying 420 cases of New Coke?
Some trucks (tractor trailers) have air ride suspension which also can alter ride height, I wonder if this was a factor.
