What is status this year of the Silverton and C&TS, with the drought and fires? Is the Silverton running, with coal fired steam, and is the Cumbres.? Saw the Eureka on the Cumbres once...too bad l was unaware of this...
50 years! holy moly. Somewhere in my stack of slide boxes I have pictures of our ride on the C & T, which must have been bk (before kids...). Our eldest turns 46 this year, so we must have done that ride in the infancy of the C & T - we rode to the mid-point out of Antonito and then caught the Chama to Antonito train back. Great trip and marvelous scenery (gotta get my slides digitized before I 'run outta time...').
