At a recent estate sale my friends and I came into possession of 40 something freight cars and numerous buildings created by a local model railroader. To summarize, these cars and structures represent an era of model railroading before my time, when the best models were either homemade or heavily modified and detailed kits. Some of the structures are from homemade castings or simply hand made and painted.the cars are heavily modified and detailed athern kits or just handmade in some cases. Some of the most unique ones are the Delaware and Hudson wood grain hoppers.
