You did a nice job of getting a well balanced font to fit in that small space.  I have the same bus but it says Atlantic City or something. Not a horrible destination for my PRR layout but you did such a nice job, you may inspire me to change it to something more "local".

By the way, I am planning my own modifications based on several photographs of the original that I've analyzed.  Some of the lights should actually be orange for this particular year, and on both sides there are some vents that appear grey-black.  I'm hoping that a black paint wash and then wipe off will fill the grill part of the vents and leave some silver showing in the right places. May need to dilute the black first and have been too busy to set aside the time to properly experiment.

Thanks for posting; it's a fun model with possibilities.  Will you be adding passengers?

Since I have the RailKing Bus station the intent is to add passengers waiting inside and outside the terminal. I also have 3 other Greyhound buses.  I need Dallas, Omaha and Kansas City.

The "font" that was used for the name is Arial Narrow bold face.  I used Visio to make the white letters with a black background.

Nice work.

The MTH bus works as a generic Greyhound bus.  The back end is a pre-war Yellow 743 Super Coach not a post-war Silversides  PD-3751 or PD-4151 back end. Both post-war models were the same length and wheelbase; the difference was in the seat arrangement. A postwar Silversides is evident by the bumpers and air conditioning grill mid-body. These coaches did not have lavatories, that was still in the future. Some ran until 1970 in Bay Area commute service.

Bill,

Thanks for the info on the rear of the bus for this MTH model. I wasn't able to find any photos online for customizing ideas, so your video was really helpful, too. What a great looking interior! So clean, slick, and functional.

And what's not to love about that turquoise? :-)

Thanks for the font info; I was curious. It looks much fuller than a narrow face at that size and with the bolding. Good choice.  Just a suggestion: you might not need Visio! although it may have other advantages. For a destination sign hack on my Pittsburgh Trolley, I created a table cell in Word to match the size of the prototypical sign board.  You can make the table cell background any color, and/or make the border a different one, and then add white letters. Just a thought for folks who don't have Visio.
