Recently finished custom painting one of the nice Atlas Steam Era Classics steel reefers.  These cars are nicely detailed with opening doors and roof hatches, plus lots of brake piping detail. The idea was to recreate a car that a Michigan club had made a few years ago since it would not be sold and only used for the family's holiday train. They are from SE Michigan so the train features an Ann Arbor Mikado (also custom painted by me since none exist) and caboose plus cars representing the lines of that area. We are all fans of St. Julian Winery and I thought it was a sharp looking car so I attempted to recreate it in O. Here are a couple shots of it in progress plus a "builders photo" I took out in the snow which I think came out great. Paint was actually two Tamiya colors sprayed together. Decals were designed by me (based on that original car) then printed by Circus City Decals. My mother in law has a ways to go on the layout but it's a good start. And yes that's a Charlie Brown tree which I made years ago after seeing what they wanted for the mass produced ones (which didn't look pathetic enough!).
