I recently had occasion to send a Legacy locomotive to Lionel for an out-of-warranty repair. I shipped the locomotive FedEx Ground on a Tuesday for delivery on Thursday. Mid-morning on Thursday, I already had an email from Lionel confirming that they had received my locomotive. Then, mid-morning on the following Monday, I already had an email from Lionel stating that they had shipped the locomotive back to me. On Wednesday, the locomotive was back in my hands. The prompt-as-possible communication of receipt and shipping and the ultra-fast turnaround both exceeded my expectations. And, I should add, the repair was done correctly.
