Plugged in a used CW80 to fast track for grandkids junior layout. I was using the transformer for accessories. (It was constantly humming) When I plugged it in, a conventional engine started running quickly before moving the throttle. Should I just trash this CW80?

maybe set on one voltage setting for accessories. I think cw80 resets to variable out put when turned off or unplugged ?.

I am looking for a post I saw yesterday that includes a wiring diagram for the CW-80. I have had about 6 of these come in for repair where the problem is the "track" output is a fixed 19 volts AC. Moving throttle makes no difference, and the Pot that is on the throttle measures good. I think in the past I even tried replacing one of the BTA24's triac's for the Track output, but without sucess.
