Can I use a cw80 or power,ax plus for conventionally powered post war trains or modern conventional ones on the tiuvariable output one and two. Of course I would never even think of using a cw80 for ps2 engines, If not these how about one of those old trainmaster ones that came is then70s and 80s with starter sets (the blue and red models withtho whistle button ) I won't run anything big just my old starter engines.

Thanks, Liam

Hi Liam,

Either transformer will work just fine as power supply to feed Variable 1 and 2.  You can run PS2 engines with them as well without any trouble as long as you set the transformer throttle to maximum.  The problem with the CW-80 is how it's internal throttle, direction, and power interrupter (it's not really a circuit breaker) interact with PS2 engines running conventional.  If you set one to full throttle and feed it through a TIU it works fine.
