Looking at the D-148 Display Layout in the CARP book, there is an electrical switch behind the L/H handle of the ZW transformer. It resembles the control for the 027 1122 switches, but, there are none on the layout. Does anyone know what the switch is and what it controls? Thanks.

Are you sure you have the correct number....D-148 is not in the Carp book and it's an O Gauge layout per the Osterhouse review disc.
Here's a picture from a Google search....

By the "Carp book" are you talking about the new special issue of CTT? If so, there's a pic of the 148 in there.
Regardless, the two closest items to the left handle of the ZW on that layout are controls for the 282 crane and 497 coaling station.
It is on page 24 of the Carp book. The layout is part of the Cecil Hopper collection.
You can also see the part on page three of the Dealer Display Layouts, Factory Layouts and Post War layouts topic in this forum. https://ogrforum.com/t...stwar-layouts?page=3

Looks like it is the controller for the coaling station per a response I received.
Thanks everyone.

Confirmed. I just checked on my schematic of the D-148.
