D&H caboose/passenger car marker lamp question for the historians

I am currently stripping my latest find, a nice old Dressel D&H marker lamp. I was surprised to find it in a maroon color, and so I am wondering if this is how the D&H painted their marker lamps, possibly just for their passenger cars. Or maybe cabooses too. I'll enclose a picture or two of the stripping process.
