I recently had a problem with my legacy control system and deleted all the engine info from the remote trying to solve the problem. Needless to say that didn't work. So I sent the system to Lionel and they fixed it. Now I had to dig out all the engine modules and reload the engines into the remote. Got that done for 20 engines and now I'm thinking maybe I should have a backup database. I got the Manuel out for the 990 system to see if it showed how to create a database and all I could find was info on loading the modules into the remote and upgrading the remote. It did say to use the legacy utility software to backup the database but I haven't found directions to do that yet. Any help to do this would be appreciated

Use the LSU software.

Here is the manual.

It will let you back up the entire database of the Legacy System.

nothing (except a recording if you make one) is stored in the remote.

everything is stored in the base.
