There is a book, "Model Railroad Electronics" by Peter J. Thorne that has the plans for a DC memory throttle. When i converted all my trains to run on DC in the 1990's (prior to going exclusively to TMCC around 2000) i built several of these. It was necessary, however, to change a few of the components to handle the higher current draw of the Lionel and early Williams motors. Back then i simply picked up the phone and called Mr. Thorne, and he gave me the specifications of those components that needed upgrading. Of course, all this info has been lost in the fog of time and the death of many brain cells thanks to copious quantities of Makers Mark.

I'd suggest getting a copy of his book and then posting the schematic of what you want to build here (or PM) and ask one of our electronic gurus to advise what needs upgrading.

Have fun.
