According to safety statistics released Monday, the agency logged 20 significant fire incidents in the first three months of 2017 — a 26 percent decrease from the same period last year, when there were 27 significant track fires.

DC Metro has its issues.  But there is something common here, as well as all government, private and non-profits.  Each do not put aside enough money to keep their buildings, ET. AL, in SOGR,  (State of Good Repair.)  Buildings, track, roads.....they have to be kept up and/or replaced.  Otherwise, somewhere down the line, the "Got you!" factor will bite you in the, er, caboose!
