I use both systems. I know that you run a wire from the TMCC Command base to the TIU. Do you need to run a wire from the TMCC to each TIU that you are using to get a signal for the TMCC? I was told that I only need one TMCC Command Base, is that correct? Right now I only have 2 loops but getting ready to start #3 & #4.

If your outside rails are all connected together you can run the wire from the "U" connection on the command base directly to an outside rail. If the loops are separated you would then need a wire to each loop. I don't bother with the tiu .
Gregg, just to 1 outside rail of outside of each loop?

One to each loop should do it.
Just make sure at least one of the outside rails is common throughout the layout and connect the Legacy signal wire to that rail anywhere in the layout. Job done.
Thanks, gunrunner john. I have the original TMCC is it still the same. No Legacy.
Yep, same for TMCC as for Legacy, one wire, outside track, easy peasy.
Mono Jim,
Per Marty F's advise I run the Legacy Base connection to both the opposite outside rail and to each TIU Black channel outs, this gives a strong legacy signal to all my different track levels thru out the layout. He is absolutely correct, it works like a dream.

If you don't use the second rail for signaling, it's never a bad idea to join the two. Of course Dave, with your Fastrack, that's already done for you.
Guns,
I still run the 2nd wire!
