I use both DCS remote as well as iPhone DCS app.  Occasionally the DCS remote won’t “see” an engine that the app will.  So, today, I opened the app because I couldn’t startup an engine on the remote and the speedometer just started increasing speed with no inputs from me. I adjusted it back down but it would climb back up even after shutdown so I had to kill the power.  The crazy part was is that it did it on each engine that I selected (already added to the app).  Those same engines work fine on the remote but runaway on the app.  Anyone ever encountered this before?

Yes, well known symptom of interaction with the app on some people's devices.

I would suggest trying a different device. Could be caused by many things about the device, operating system, settings, hardware and chipset of your device. Even possibly defects in your screen, touch system, case, overlays, screen protectors, or just how you are holding the device.

And that's the problem with apps. They have no control, no way to test every device out there, every flavor of OS, all the different years and models.

Thanks for that!  I tried to search for it before posting anything.  I read through those and I think I have what I need from them.  It is the app bug that I'm encountering.  I did recently take my WIU and configured it to go through my home router so that may be causing latency that they discussed in the other thread.  It's crazy that the things the remote will only do, and the other things that the app will only do.  It's still a great control system.  I'll try deleting the app and re-installing it as well as putting the WIU back into its self wifi mode.  Thanks for the links.

FWIW, I run my WIU through the home router, that's for a good reason.  With that configuration, I don't have to lose Internet connectivity to use the WIU and then reconfigure again each time.

I have experienced no measurable or noticeable latency using the home router.  I can't imagine why you would if you have a decent router and you aren't maxing out your WiFi bandwidth.

Yeah, I was thinking that any latency I might have shouldn’t be significant enough to cause an issue.  Also I have a fairly high-end home router.  As soon as I get back home I’m going to delete the app and reinstall.  I’ve never had this problem until yesterday.
