An update to the DCS App, version 3.0.1, was released last night for the iOS version of the app via iTunes. I haven't checked yet, however, I expect an Android version will be released momentarily, if it hasn't already been released.

The release notes only states:

"This version fixes several issues that were discovered after DCS Explorer was released."

Please don't hesitate to post your experiences with the new app on this thread - thanks!

I do know that in time, the app will update. It will at least show in my updates screen on my android devices and I select update to get it done.

I tried last time to go to the app store and for some reason the phone would not let the MTH app update download because of security? I forget the message it displayed. After a few attempts it just happened to update the app the regular way through the phone's update section.

Is there a way for me to force it to look for this update faster? I looked in the MTH app and didn't see a way? I opened the update screen in the android phone and it did update other things but not the DCS app so far.

got it finally this morning on an old pad. 3.0.1 b47

That pad had crashed some time back. I booted it back up and removed a bunch of games and that seemed to get it back working.

Yet none of the others show this update available?

I'm still looking for it on those other devices. They show no updates available??

I sent a message to MTH thru the app support's tab.

It must be some kind of google sign in issue that I'm overlooking?

I tried messing with them but I don't really know what to do. I switched between 2 accounts on goggle + yet it still doesn't show any MTH app updates on the phone?

Problems here to.

I have a new phone dedicated to DCS Wifi only.

I reset the phone completely and uninstalled the MTH app.

Basically everything back to zero.....

Started everything from scratch......made no difference.

There is no update to add.

I'm at DCS 6.1 and Wifi at 3.0 build 46

So it will remain a mystery for a while longer.........

Appreciate the replies

Dave

The fact that my oldest pad did find the update confuses me. I have only one account on my newer Tab E and yet that doesn't see the update?

It has to be some type of sign in like stated above. I don't believe that it is fixable at our end though.

I have signed in to both mine, and my girl's google with no difference. None of my 4 newer devices show this update.

Maybe there's some type of protection to the app so that MTH gets paid for it, and hacked versions won't update???

This stuff is over my head.

Edit: that old pad  that updated would only run one engine at a time. I found it had just the free version on it, and then crashed when I tried to upgrade the app to the premium.

iPhone 7 Plus • Premium Version

v3.0.1 MTH Wi-Fi update

As of todays date. No issues to report.  My iPhone is set up for automatic upgrades on all the Apps.

My adult son, uses the Premium App wth a Android Phone, also no issues to report.

The upside for this process, it is all automatic.  The handheld controller, do you remember those.  You had to locate three cables & plug them into the TIU,  Handheld Controller, and a personal computer, to do an upgrade.

I do have one suggestion for MTH Trains, I receive your daily e-mails. Please post these upgrades in your e-mails and the reason for the upgrade.

do other apps update?

The Android version of the app updated last week.  On Friday, I think.  Regardless, I see from the post above and on Google Play Console (developer site) the version didn't get updated.  I think this is just a textual change as the app is the correct and current version 3.0.1 build 47.  We'll get the Play Store updated and thanks for pointing it out.

The Android update primarily deals with a bug where DCS lash ups could not be started up.  This same bug prevented TMCC/Legacy engine start ups.  Those issues are fixed.  The bug occurred when the Explorer app was created.  We had to do some things so the app can recognize an Explorer vs. WIU and behave accordingly.  These changes caused the bug.  We squashed it.  It's dead.

We also released an update to the iOS app but, not much new for WIU users.  On the Explorer side, we found a couple of things that would make the app more stable and reliable when connecting to the Explorer.  We wanted to get those updates out quickly as people are beginning to run the train sets that include it.

You may know this but, if you hold your finger directly on the version number in the iOS app for about 6-8 seconds, the build number will appear.  Different from iOS, when the revision is rolled, as it was this time to 3.0.1, the build numbers have to restart.  So, the latest iOS app is v3.0.1 build 1.

With regard to updates to the content of the apps for WIU users, that is some UI improvements, Legacy issues, etc., we're defining those boundaries and will be getting something out probably in the next 6 weeks.  Maybe sooner depending upon holiday schedules.

I'm wondering by the way mine has gone, if people have downloaded the app version 3.0.0 then, they don't get the update?

Seems almost like it's more random?

Yeah, Somethin is up here.... I have version 3.0.0 on my tablets, when I go to the Play store and there is no "Update" option for the app, only an "open" option.  As of right now when you go to the Play store, it says the app was updated on December 8th, but still lists the current version as 3.0.0.

The way I understand what MTH RD was telling us is that our apps are updated but the description of the version was not incorporated into the update in Google Play Console.  The text stayed the same. Glad were OK and their fixing that minor issue.

If that was the case, then why won't my androids run lash-ups?

If you go into app settings, what version is displayed on your Android devices after the update?  If the devices aren't running 3.0.1 build 47 then, what version of Android is running on those devices?  There has to be a logical explanation if your devices are just refusing to update.  The Android update is out there.  It works.  Ignore the text error on the store presentation that states it's 3.0.0.  It means nothing.  We'll get that fixed soon just for housekeeping.  I'm more interested in why most people get the correct update but you are having trouble.  Let's get you, and your lash ups, straightened out.

If you read my posts above, you will see that I posted that my 3 android devices are running 3.0.0 build 46

By your post, I was lead to believe that your last build was not labeled correctly? So the devices would not see any update unless they looked at just the build number.

There are other posters above that also did not get the update.

We do not know why? We are looking to you for the answer.

I only suspect it has something to do with the google sign in??? I have tried repeatedly to resolve this on my end.
